State Government The Queensland government has its own policy and programs regarding environmental management. Funding for land and sea management is delivered through Dept of Environment,Science, Tourism and Innovation (DETSI) once DES or DESI. There are other statewide emergency grants post extreme climate events available to landholders under the Department ofr Local Government and Water and Fire, Disaster Recovery and Volunteers, Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing, and Regional and Rural Development. NGO -Advocacy Partnerships A non government organisation is formed independently from the government and is typically a not for profit organisation with a charter or focus on social and environmental outcomes. They may run on government funds, service provision and or charitable donations. Advocacy is the practice of promoting and recommending a particular course of action to achieve an idea or plan or outcome. Many NGOs and advocacy organisations have a footprint on Cape York .An example of this is the call for World Heritage Nomination of areas on Cape York.

Indigenous Not for Profit Indigenous not for profit organisations support Indigenous land management rights and actions. They advocate for equity and inclusion in governance, economic opportunity, environmental funding programs and culturally appropriate delivery. They have a broad membership base and key in developing information resources and tools.

Research Consortiums Large research organisations conducting investigation into practical solutions to improve conservation and management of Australias resources. Agendas are currently tied to researching the underlying accounting system to market based investment in nature repair and reaching Australias 2030 emissions reductions targets. Community partnerships, consultations and collaborationsare a cornerstone to their approach to applied research, currently in Cape York research with Traditional owners is focussed on wetlands and feral pigs.

Environmental Markets Environmental markets place a dollar value on ecosystem services which are currently free, for example fertile soils, clean water and air.To mantain quality ecosysytem services markets place a monetary value on a unit of improvement and eligible projects can generate their results of good land management to private investors. To participate in environmental markets you need to be an eligible landholder.

PhilanthropyPhilanthropy is the practice of gifting money to organisations to carry out projects. There is no expected monetary return however philanthropic bodies may require certain conditions be met.Common themes for philanthropic funders of nature based projects are management and interventions which help alleviate natural crises, extinctions and climate change, goals and support First Nations organisations to manage country. Access to funding is through brokered relationships with fund raisers or through application.

Methods Accounting Organisations who own or develop nature repair methodologies that can be used to generate credits that can be sold for a monetary value. This may include

Grant Finding Links List of free and subscription based grant finding tools. These are web based sites that can be used to find or forecast open grant rounds. Some sites can be set up for alerts. Subscription based sites send regular weekly /daily emails listing grant opportunities.
