BA Botany Major Requirements

Group 1: Systematics & Evolution (at least one course): BOT 430/BIOL 430/TPSS 432, 430L/BIOL 430L/TPSS 432L, 461, 480, or BIOL 470.

Group 2: Ecology, Conservation & Natural History (at least one course): BOT 301/SUST 313, 301L/SUST 313L, 310, 350, 440, 444/SUST 445, 450, 456, or 475; GEO 400, GEO 405

Botany Electives (other): any of the following courses to fulfill the minimum 23 credits of BOT elective requirements: BIOL 440, 490/MATH 490, 499; BOT 442,

446/SUST 446, GEO 309, 411/SUST 413; PH 441; TPSS 304/NREM 304, TPSS 369, 421, 435, 453; or additional courses from those listed above in Groups 1-2.

Approved substitutions for the physics requirement (PHYS 100/100L): PHYS 151/151L or PHYS 170/170L.

Students must earn a grade of C (not C-) or higher in each course applied to the major, including the required courses in biology, chemistry, and physics.
