I will only list the good tier 3 ammo type for each shell type useable by a given tank, up to 2 entries for each shell type.
CQC phrase initiative = (100%*EVA)+(50%*DET)
Ex. APC 2-1 / 5-2 means the first ammo on the second column (quickfire) and 2nd ammo of fifth column (tempered), Tier 3 is assumed.

Where I list more then 1 ammo type for a give shell type, it will be because both are comparable or have specialized uses.
When hit, spot meter decreases linearly to damage taken... This means if a Heavy tank got enough armor to take very little damage, it's threat rating can remain higher much longer.

Kinetic shell receive pen bonus based shorter the distance, but non-kinetic actually gets a similar but much smaller bonus.
When shooting for gold tanks in BWMG, increasing materials above the minimum require actually increases the chance to get a gold tank, but the bonus decreases the more resources spent
Each kinetic shell type + AT has a native bounce chance
Bounce armor gives roughly 1/3 the bounce chance as a bounce chassis

For fire extinguisher, the fire damage removal applies and stacks every turn until it is gone. EG. a 1200 fire debuff on a tank with -600 fire extinguisher, turn 1 600 fire damage, turn 2 the fire disappears
When a tank takes damages, it's attack gains aggro based on the defender's DET
Infantry also prioritize targets with lower weapon range. Makes sense don't it?
I will highlight good ammo type in green where present, these are typically:
Assault AP gains more then average PEN bonus the closer the target is, but loses more then average PEN bonus when beyond the weapon's maximum range. This is important when said you want to use Beastly assault AP like ISU-122 and Jagdtiger in valleys
For Conventional (C) shells quickfire and assault ammo are best.
Wreck shells are kinetic, Plan shells are non-kinetic
For Composite Rigid (APC R) quickfire and tempered ammo are best.
Kinetic shell scales in FRP and PEN based on distance, but each type scales differently
For Discarding-sabot (APD S) quickfire, tempered and 6-x are best.
Kinetic for close combat, Nkinetic for long distance combat
For High explosive (HE) explosive is best.
APD is an exception, with a much lower distance scaling vs AP and APC. Best kinetic shell for long distance, and most consistant damage, though it pays for it by losing much of the close combat bonus enjoyed by AP/APC
For Rocket (R) Triple launch and Molten are best. Though over in Chinese server burning was buffed to become far better then Molten.
For anti-tank (AT) all N6 ammos have their uses and 3-x aren't bad either. The 5-x though is specialized vs high dodge low armor cockroach (massive aim bonus), so best in Street (especially rocky street), I will not highlight anti-cockroach ammo in green.
For Squash head (SQ) explosive is best.
