ToddStackTheo Stack64Dr. Hovenic, Thank you for your willingness to step up and lead when the school needed someone who could provide stability amidst some trying transitional times. You were a steadying hand, and you moved the school from where it was then to where it is now. You have left your fingerprints on SRS as an institution and also on the kids that learned under your leadership that will remain for years to come. Here is an example of a difference you made in my own son, Theo. Just last week, he and I had an obvious difference of opinion on which language he should take next year that played out when I was picking him up after school. He was showing his frustrations on his face, and you took notice asking if he was okay. The point is that you know my son well enough to read his mood and his facial expressions. That shows a connection to my son, and I have seen that same connection extended as a gift by you to other kids all over the school at every level during your tenure. That is a true mark of a leader in my book. You know your organization from the bottom to the top. You serve and lead with professionalism for sure, but you also do it with love, gladness, kindness, and selflessness. I wish you the very best in retirement or in whatever is next for you.

What I did not know, and would never have guessed, is that you would lead Sage Ridge with so much of your heart and soul as you have. Few people will know the extent to which you wore so many hats, and were willing to do whatever the school needed at any moment—including working days, night and weekends. Whether it was handing out diplomas, setting curriculum, pulling weeds, or manually pumping the sewage sump—there was never a job too big, or too small.
Our family, the Sage Ridge Board, and I are all incredibly grateful for the countless amazing things you have done for our School. You have made a lasting impact on Sage Ridge that has set us up for success for generations to come. I will also never forget the experience of working alongside you. I am better because of it.
