|Andrew Vaughan wrote in asking if Google Drive files are encrypted. He was thinking about recommending Google’s Backup and Sync for his Mom but only if the Drive files are encrypted by default. I mentioned something like Boxcryptor but he says even that is probably too much to expect his Mom to want to mess with. I couldn’t find any definitive statement that Google Drive files are encrypted. Can any of you?|
|Alan Char, like many of you believes people who use spaces may seem to make more money because large companies mandate spaces. He adds "different tools align tabs on a different number of spaces, usually four or eight. This seems to come from Unix which historically aligned on eight, while Windows, DOS, and Mac historically aligned on four. Since the latest Mac OS has much Unix influence, I thought I'd see how tabs aligned in the brave new world. Terminal, like the underlying Unix-based OS, aligns on eight spaces. XCode, aligns on four. TextEdit aligns on six, go figure. ...|
This is all to say that many experienced programmers (like myself) prefer spaces because code always aligns correctly, regardless of operating system, editor, viewer, or IDE.

Got the scoop on why Microsoft did not win E3, but maybe nobody did. Dived into one companies project to turn spent second stage rockets into a space squatter’s paradise. In space. And thought we were being clever talking about Amazon buying Slack before Amazon went and bought the Whole Foods grocery chain. All that and much more at dailytechnewsshow.com|
