|t||The FBI arrested Marcus Hutchins, aka MalwareTech was arraigned Thursday on charges of creating and distributing the Kronos banking Trojan. |t||Anuj Sharma, Lenovo India’s head of marketing told Gadgets 360 that starting with the K8 Note, Lenovo will ship phones with stock Android instead of its Vibe UI skin. Sharma said the change is due to customer request and should allow for speedier updates. |s||Coinbase has decided to support the Bitcoin fork BitCoin Cash by January 1st. Customers with Bitcoin stored at Coinbase would be able to withdraw Bitcoin Cash. When the fork occurred on August 1st, holders of Bitcoin became able to claim an equivalent amount of BitCoin Cash if exchanges supported it. Coinbase has not decided whether to support BitCoin Cash Trading. |t||Facebook announced it is using its open-source Caffe2 deep learning framework to perform more than 4.5 billion translations a day on Facebook. All machine translation models at Facebook have now been changed from phrase-based, which translates individual words and phrases, to neural models which translate whole blocks of text at once. |s||The US Senate voted 94-1 to pass a bill that would allow consumers to purchase certain classes of hearing aids without a prescription. The bill now heads to the President to sign. The loosening of the restrictions is expected to lower prices of hearing aids by allowing for easier competition. |t||Scientists at Columbia Engineering published a study in the Journal of Neural Engineering described a system that combines a little mind reading with some AI to create a hearing aid that can focus on one particular speaker. The system uses a deep neural network to separate speakers in a stream of audio, then monitor neural recordings of a person’s brain to match which speaker the person is focusing on and amplify that.||https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/08/170803204942.htm|

- only about 56 percent of high-school seniors in 2015 went out on dates; for Boomers and Gen Xers, the number was about 85 percent.

Quick note on Apple 'scrambling' to release the next iPhone. Having been in commercial tech manufacturing for almost a decade I can attest one fact: even the slightest change to a product can have unanticipated results. That they might be having difficulties with minor changes to the iPhone is no more surprising than any problems they might have with major changes. Long story short (too late), if Apple is scrambling it really tells us nothing about the kind of changes to come.
