Drunk & disorderly and consumption of drugsHighHighRequirement of client to sign a contract (commitment) that no alcohol or other drugs can be consumed during stay.

Once alcohol or other drugs have been consumed a hearing is carried out with consideration to departure of the client.

Alcohol can not be consumed at bbq, restaurants or special occasions.

Drug tests can and will be carried out at LBAs discretion.

A buddy system will be encouraged.

Clients will attend LBAs drug and alcohol maintenance program.

Obnoxious behaviourHighMediumRequirement of client to sign a contract that they will be respectful of their fellow clients and not initiate behaviour that will promote conflict.

Where obnoxious behaviour is present, a sit down with the client to determine cause.

Dispute resolution if conflict is present.

Setting fire to homesLowHighRequirement of client to sign a contract that non-smoking will be continued from their non-use within the correctional centre.

That the use of naked flames will be isolated to an approved area. I.e. oxy acetylene to cutting section with in work shed, cooking equipment to kitchen

An induction will be carried out explaining fire, its use, prescribed areas and consequences

If a client is caught using fire in an unprescribed manner, a hearing will be carried out.

Not keeping room cleanHighLowRequirements of clients to sign a contract concerning a high level of personal tidiness and hygiene will need to be maintained.

Clients will attend a program that directly builds their understanding of personal hygiene, tidiness and its greater benifits

FightingMediumHighRequirements of clients to sign a contract implying that fighting is not acceptable and they will do what is possible to mitigate the use of violence.

At the signs of conflict a ‘sit down’ with an LBA officer will be carried out.

Conflict resolution session will be held between conflicting parties

Where physical fighting has occurred a report will be carried out and legal requirements will be followed. (police action)

Clients will attend a program that directly builds their knowledge of reducing their use of violence and anti-social behaviour.

Illegal behaviourMediumHighRequirements of clients to sign a contract implying that illegal behaviour is not acceptable and that they understand that legal requirements will be followed.

Reporting to parole and legal obligationsHighMediumClients will be required to disclose all reporting obligations. This will be added to the clients development profile.

A high importance placed on the requirement to fulfill their legal obligations.

Work with probation, parole and other legal reporting agencies.

Create a proactive attitude mentality to their successful legally requirements

Clients will be required to attend medical clinic and initiate medical examination

Psychological state will need to be ascertained and actions implemented where required. (Continual reports taken and assessed)

That clients will disclose any financial responsibilities like spore or victim compensation.

That client provides proof that they have organised with centrelink or sponsor to have direct debit set up.
