PUNCTUATION IN PROMPTS (Writing conventions)
10
& = either friendship or pure genNote: In some prompts, people have used a comma between character names to indicate non-friendship gen. In most cases, we have edited these to use & instead, but the comma might still be there. In the future, please specify if you want a non-friendship gen pairing if you are using the & mark, or use a comma instead.
11
/ = romantic or sexual relationship
12
&/ = either romance or friendship/pure gen. The author chooses which one.
13
, = comma indicates a non-friendship and non-romantic pairing, i.e. multiple characters in one ficNote: In many older prompts, this comma might have been changed to &. Keep this in mind if you are claiming a prompt older than 2016. See explanation to & above.
14
| = symbiotic relationship
15
Using +/- = when one or more prompt keywords is optional. Note: The prompter wants a fic featuring Daniel as the main character, but also wants to make it clear that having Sam/Jack romance in the fic would be a good bonus. Example: Daniel +/- Sam/Jack.
16
Note #2: Right now, these types of older prompts are just separated by comma or with an "and"/"or".
17

Look for the Multiple characters headline. Team-prompts that are of a romantic nature can be found in Moresomes.

Rare pairings or friendship (HUMAN-ONLY) = prompts containing a single relationship between two human (or Jaffa) characters - either romance, friendship or pure gen.
