www.aferro.org		Gallery Aferro is invested in uplifting artists to help them make their work, and encouraging an environment where artists can make work as large or complex as desired. This open call is to artists of any professional stage working in almost any media, and who would like to continue their creative practice in an engaged and energized studio residency in downtown Newark, NJ. The residency is a 6 month rotation with the possibility for renewal, requires a small monthly fee, weekly studio time requirements, and participation in our Aferro Studio blog at http://www.aferrostudios.org
Participation in the residency program includes a platform to share and participate in a community of artists and others through informal networking and participation in seasonal open studios and artist talks at the gallery. Gallery Aferro is also dedicated to providing opportunities to our residents in the form of exhibitions, off-site talks, advocacy, visiting curators, and letters of recommendation. The studios average at about 525 sq. ft. per studio, are work-only spaces, and have dedicated storage space. The spaces offered are private studios, which the artist will have 24 hour access to. The gallery is located just 5 blocks from Newark Penn Station and is walking distance to almost every other gallery in the city as well as a wide range of local businesses and places to eat. This call is open to artists, local to Newark, NJ or not.

www.rancholindavista.org		RLV is an artist community situated on 80 acres in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, 35 miles north of Tucson. Founded in 1968 on a historic adobe ranch, this residency offers a unique opportunity to self-reliant artists seeking to create a serious body of work, in a beautiful setting, among a community of resident artists and creative colleagues. The residency includes a furnished one-bedroom house, separate studio space and a $1,000 stipend. The selected resident is encouraged to exhibit/share his/her work in an open studio at the conclusion of their stay.

Spanning the southern tip of the Florida peninsula and most of Florida Bay, Everglades National Park is the only subtropical wilderness in North America. It is known for its rich wildlife, particularly large wading birds, and it is the only place in the world where both alligators and crocodiles coexist.The Everglades National Park artist-in-residence program offers artists the opportunity to live and work in this unique environment for one calendar month. The works completed during or following the residency, will contribute to public understanding and appreciation of Everglades National Park. These works will represent and resonate with the Everglades for present and future generations, giving park visitors and the general public an opportunity to see our heritage through the filter of the artists.  Each AIRIE Fellow thus becomes an “ambassador” of the Everglades in the world.AIRIE invites visual artists, scholars, composers and writers to seek both solitude and solidarity in the inspiring environment of Everglades National Park. Artists are provided a furnished apartment for the length of the residency, usually four weeks. Visual arts include painting, sculpture, photography, installation and video. Writers include poets and authors of fiction, creative non-fiction and creative journalism. Composers, musicians, dancers and performance artists are welcome to apply. Work submitted should be of professional quality. No student work will be eligible. $30.00 application fee.
