Ho creato questo spreadsheet per tenere d'occhio quella che sarà l'evoluzione del Draft 2018 dalla March Madness incombente alla notte del 22 giugno.

L'intento è quello di tracciare i prospetti sotto un punto di vista personale e fare un raffronto delle loro statistiche personali suddividendoli per il ruolo che dovrebero andare a ricoprire in NBA.

Spero che il tempo mi permetta di creare anche dei profili più ampi per ogni giocatore in modo da avere un quadro il più completo possibile.

Di seguito trovate le spiegazioni delle pagine che trovate qui sotto

Invece di creare un mock draft (che farò non appena l'ordine delle scelte sarà ufficiale), ho deciso di suddividere i giocatori in fasce - TIER, appunto.

Questi tier non necessariamente rispecchieranno l'ordine di scelta di ciascun giocatore ma cercherà invece di unirli a livello di talento/prospettiva secondo una valutazione personale

Le fasce e l'ordine possono variare costantemente fino al 22 giugno e cercherò di aggiornarlo con la maggior frequenza possibile.

Nella categoria "Watch-List" trovate quei giocatori che al momento non sembrano avere le qualità per rientrare nelle fasce superiori (mi sono limitato a 10) e/o quelli il cui loro ingresso

in NBA non sembra immediato, che potrebbero valutare di rimanere un altro anno al college. Non sono in ordine di valore ma alfabetico.

Ho suddiviso le categorie di giocatori per ruolo, quindi troverete

- BALL-HANDLERS:

ovvero PG e tutti quei giocatori che avranno possibilità di lavorare molto palla in mano, che sia creators o initiators

solitamente i ruoli che ricoprono gli esterni perimetrali, SG e SF che non sembrano adatti a poter difendere al di fuori del loro ruolo

le ali, quei giocatori che solitamente vengono chiamati tweeners per la capacità di poter giocare sia da SF che da PF sia offensivamente che difensivamente

giocatori con dimensione interna tangibile

Ho usato una scala di colori per fare in modo che le loro caratteristiche principali vengano esaltate o smorzate a seconda del rendimento degli altri pariruolo

Le statistiche potrebbero essere annacquate da uno stile di gioco di squadra che difficilmente si rispecchiano con le skills del giocatore (vedi gli international), ed è per questo motivo che spero

di arrivare a fare i profili di ognuno, per confermare/negare i risultati statistici.

I've created this spreadsheet to keep an eye on the 2018 Draft and the MachMadness which is (wow) upon us.

The idea here is to track every prospect, evaluate them according to my judgent and give a wide statistical comparison. I split them into the roles I think they will fit in at the next level.

Here's a detailed explanation of the pages you'll find in the sheet.

Instead of a mock draft (I'll do that when the draft order will be set in stone) , I diecide to subdivide playiers into tiers.

These are not necessarily going to match the draft order, but I tried to group them from a talent/upside poinnt of view.

Again, this is my personal opinion, @ me on twitter if you disagree. I'll keep order and tiers fluid, so chek them out regularly!

In this category you'll find players that are on the fringe of the draft. Either because thier talent level doesn't quite match the requirements to be in one of the top 10 tiers, or because it's unclear

wether they will declare for the 2018 Draft. These prospect are just in alphabetical order.

I subdivided the players using (real) roles, trying to use the following criteria

- BALL-HANDLERS:

point guards or players who are going to have the ball in their hands a lot of the time. I put both "creators" and "initiator" in this category.

players that usually play off-ball in either one of the wing roles. These are SG and SF that do not seems to be able to guard roles different than their own.

versatile wings who can play both the forwards spot offensively and defensively.

players with a clear and defined interior presence, possibly on both ends

I use a color-scale so that the main stats are going to be related with the players in the same tier. So strenghts (red-ish colors) and weaknesses (blue-ish colors) are going to be realted with the

players in the same role. I will try to make profiles where I compare stats with my eye-test. Too many times the stats for EU players and even certain NCAA ones depend a lot on

the situation they have to play in.
