Wierzbicka. We will use this cultural example to discuss the relationship between language and psychological experience as well as variations of emotions across cultures and why they may matter. Examples from students' own cultures will be also discussed.The class will start with a 10-minute quiz that will test students' familiarity with the reading.

We will talk about the growth of our bank accounts, the spread of rumors, and patterns we see across all functions. Students will learn how to convert between exponents and logarithms and how we can apply the properties of logarithms to simplify complex expressions.We will be using strategies that build academic mindset including controlled frustration and grit, something we have been working on throughout the semester. We will also be looking at using mathematics to model situations in the world around them. Students will be coming up to the board to present their ideas, and there will be active participation by all.
