Halloween costumes are often only used once and then thrown away ending up in landfills. It is estimated that 35 million costumes are thrown away each year and leads to almost 2,000 tons of plastic waste. Not only will the BOOtique help to start to tackle this environmental issue in our community, but it will also allow people who cannot afford a costume access to free costumes. BOOtique wants to ensure that all children in our community have access to costumes.

A mix of footsteps, claps and spoken word produce complex rhythms in this modern expressive art form. In the Americas, the art of stepping was carefully crafted by the descendants of slaves. In the early 1900s across historically black colleges, stepping took hold of the African American community.
