Introduction to 3D Modeling for Games and FilmThrough this workshop, students will get a start at learning how to use Blender for 3D modeling in games and film. This could open the door towards careers in those areas, industrial design, new hobbies, and improved spatial thinking. On the first day I will introduce sculpting in Blender. Resources will be provided to explore once the class ends, and each additional class will cover a slightly different topic. Sculpting, "hard surface" modeling, geometry nodes, and AI would be specific topics I intend to cover. By the end, students have new tools in their belt to use in future problems that they solve.

An Introduction to Street ArtThis three-part workshop will cover a brief history of graffiti art. Together we will discuss the definition of graffiti, and how we arrived at that definition. We will touch on the difference between graffiti and public advertisement in urban spaces. Students will learn terms and definitions for the varying techniques and styles that are prominent in graffiti. They will practice tags and lettering as a foundation to develop a style that best suits their self-expression. The final project for the course will be a small graffiti work done on a surface of the student's choice (whatever is available). They will be asked to ensure that the final piece shows a consistent letter style and creativity. Students will have supporting practice sketches that inform the final piece. Overall, the final project will focus on the process rather than the product as this course gives the students a small glimpse at the starting techniques for becoming a graffiti writer.Grades 7-9
