24 | An Introduction to Street Art | This three-part workshop will cover a brief history of graffiti art. Together we will discuss the definition of graffiti, and how we arrived at that definition. We will touch on the difference between graffiti and public advertisement in urban spaces. Students will learn terms and definitions for the varying techniques and styles that are prominent in graffiti. They will practice tags and lettering as a foundation to develop a style that best suits their self-expression. The final project for the course will be a small graffiti work done on a surface of the student's choice (whatever is available).
