The a) and c) are clear and relevant - 2, whereas b) causes lapses in communication (doir) - 1. However, d) cannot be understood (use of English) - 0.

Question b and c has some ambiguity when the student wrote "dois" instead of "deux" and "un portable" when there are 5 cell phones. Question d cannot be understood.

Q1 a)clearly conveys information about the number of women on the photo, the mark awarded is 2. Q1 b) has some ambiguity when the student specifies the number of men (spelling mistake) but the message is partially conveyed, the mark awarded is 1. Q1 c) accurately conveys the message and although the number is not correct, it does not impede communication (the mark awarded is 2). Q1 d) was awarded a mark of 0 as the message is irrelevant as the student used an English word (travel).

I think the spelling in b is enough to obscure the meaning slightly and it is unclear what is meant in the response to d.

uncertain as to whether D should be awarded 0 or 1 mark. the verb is correct but the choice of noun leaves the intended answer very ambiguous
