34 | Notes | My general impressions / gotchas I've found. | Have custom web interface I wrote I use instead of desktop GUI. | Got this to add a more graphic web interface than the one I'd written but communication issues in the X10 / Insteon network quickly made this a mute point. | First attempt at upgrading shop to Z protocals. Canned actions available at time did not include things I needed like text me if too hot in shop. | Grabbed one at $49 (1/2 off) to try some stuff with including stuff that only works with the V2 hub. Note upgrading from V1 some older SmartThings devices may not work and you have to start over pairing everything. | Adding a trigger to a scene is not intuitive. Follow steps exactly. Upgraded to UI7 2/9/2015 after crash. Everything added back fine. | As of 9/1/2014 was shipping with Release Candidate 1.7.318 NOT GA software. Tried upgrading to 1.7.384 but devices would no longer talk to hub afterward. Had to factory reset to downgrade. 1.7.619 seems to work OK. | No issues upgrading so far but child devices keep showing up. | transfering from VeraEdge to Vera Plus most of the battery powered devices are saying can't find now though they seem to still work. | All the nodes came across in the transfer but many are needing rescans or repaired to see all the params. Note this appears be a Z-stick issue not a porting issue. | Z-Wave devices that did not pair with Zstick paired fine. Also helps you can place this anywhere you have a wired or WiFi ethernet connection to make pairing simpler and being able to add multiple Z-nets really helps with lag. | Oddly after pairing Iris devices some new devices appeared on my near by Vera. A smoke detector among them even though I had no wireless smoke detector. When you get the 2.0 hub it takes this one offline and there is not way to bring it back online. | By the time I'd unlinked all my devices from the old hub, downloaded new app, typed in several pages to create a new account, the requirement for a credit card to finsh setting up my account was the final straw. Tried to reconnect devices to V1 hub but dialogs pop up asking you to upgrade when you click add device effectively blocking you from adding any new device despite the page saying you can still add devices while waiting for your new hub. The ONLY advatage the 2.0 hub seems to have is speed. | It is VERY clear at this point this was a scam. They even went so far as to tell everyone they were about to ship and gathered shipping info from everyone presumable to sell the info. | The range for the hub to the lights seem seriously effected by other wireless devices. Being able to connect to multiple hubs at same time is BIG plus. Mine is currently connected to 2 Veras, SmartThings and Echo. | Thermostats, smoke detectors and cameras that talk to each other and most other home automation systems. | Seems to take a bit to settle in and setting my 2 units side by side one consistantly reads higher than the other. But they do seem to track one another so the numbers are not random just remember number is relative to your unit. Note there seems to be no way to save the data and the phone only shows the last 7 days. | I have few types of tags for monitoring environment. The outdoor tags for soil moisture do not seem to last long and seem sensitive to the temperature changes but the indoor tags seem to work well. | Just a voice interface but since talks to some devices for remote control (including some Zigbee stuff with Plus version) so people are calling it a home automation hub so listing as one to show what ti does and does not do | Just a voice interface but since talks to some devices for remote control so people are calling it a home automation hub so listing as one to show what ti does and does not do | Service linking service supported by most devices / services | Service linking service.
