Directions for Administering the TIA Teacher Buy-In Survey Cohort F

The Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) Teacher Buy-In Survey, developed by Texas Tech University, is designed to gauge teachers’ understanding and degree of support for their district’s local teacher designation system prior to system implementation. Results will be used as part of a continuous improvement cycle to ensure that local teacher designation systems are as fair, accurate, and reliable as possible.

1. Create a spreadsheet with the following information for ALL teachers in the district:

§ Column A: First name

§ Column B: Last name

§ Column C: District email address of the educator

2. A district representative should upload this attachment with their application through the Qualtrics link provided by TEA for the Cohort F applicaiton by April 17, 2023. The attachment should remain a separate spreadsheet. Additional directions will be available through the Qualtrics link.

3. After receiving the email list from the district, TTU will send survey links to all teachers in the school district. The survey will be sent out by April 27, 2023. Since the survey links are personalized to individuals, please inform your teachers not to share their survey link with others.

4. TTU will send weekly reminders to all educators who have not completed the survey. We also encourage districts to promote survey participation. The survey will close on May 13, 2023.

5. The survey will be sent out from the email address “noreply@qemailserver.com”. Please work with your IT team to make sure that the district’s email server does not deny emails from this address (i.e., allow list "noreply@qemailserver.com" and Qualtrics IP addresses [see screenshot below]). TTU will send a test survey from the email address “noreply@gmailserver.com” to the primary district representative on April 22, 2023 and work to confirm through qualtrics that the email was received.

6. Teachers may send questions, if they have any, to tia@ttu.edu and they will receive responses from that email address. Please work with your IT team to make sure that the district’s email server does not deny emails from this address (i.e., allow list tia@ttu.edu).

7. TTU will send out aggregated survey responses to districts along with the state-wide average by June 16, 2023.
