geistoMay 2021SkyLumen XXI SBT90.2 1x21700A good EDC light that can pump out the lumens. Driver VN4 provides many options for brightness settings. Typical beam pattern for a smooth reflector. Tint for the de-lens SBT90.2 is blast white with light purple on the outermost ring which is only discernable at close range while whitewall hunting. With a Samsung 40T, the whole light will get scorching hot running it on turbo for 45seconds. The light can operate comfortably at about 700 lumens without heat issues. The body is just a round tube so it will roll on any incline. The included lanyard or optional pocketclip will prevent rolling.

The Emisar D18vn i got with Nichia 219b 4500k's and its such a nice neutral white light, its very pleasant for the eyes when using it. I can recommend any light from Vinh 100%!

Definately won't be my last SkyLumen purchase, I was amazed at how fast the mods were completed and shipped.

His shippping, response to email questions, and overall product has been above and beyond. The ToolVN I got was the Ti variant and the emitter is flawless. Love the warmer tints with high CRI. The Lumintop tool has been my favorite EDC for years but I hated the stock emitter and do not have the tools to swap on my own. When I found Vinh's custom listing I instantly jumped on it. He responded to about a dozen emails from me about serial numbers so I could get the right one for my brother as a gift. Thanks Vinh!

I'd rather buy from Vinh than have stuff shipped from China, that takes months and may get damaged on thev way. His customner service is second to none and he always replies promptly and personally to email and is happy to answer any question. As far as I know he is the only proffesional flashlifght modder and customiser in the world. He has found a unique niche market and obviously loves what he does and does it well, not many people can claim that and I think this is the pinnicle of success in life rather than how much money you make! I imagine he has at least several employees, I cannot imagine he has time to do it all himself with a family too. As for my latest purchase; it blows the others out of the water! I'd really love to get my FW1vn upgraded with the same diamond module, or have the Maxtoch kitted out with one of Vinh's drivers

When that company said no, SkyLumen said YES. Mr. Vinh of SkyLumen was able to repair my Muyshondt Aeon light. He also modified my Muyshondt Nautilus. Both lights now work better than they did originally. In addition to his stellar workmanship, his prices were more than fair and his customer service was as good as his work. I can not recommend him enough if you need repair or modification work for your flashlight. He also sells lights. He is my go-to vender for anything to do with a flashlight and he should be yours also. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Mr. Vinh!

The MC13vn90 is a fabulous little thrower. The original MC13 was my favorite little thrower. But this one really out does it. It has much better spill, so you can really see what’s going on around you. And its spot is not pencil thin like the original MC13. It is huge in comparison. And almost as bright. This is also a much more beautiful version of this little thrower. And its specs are way better than any of the other variations. Be sure to get it with the Manker batteries.

Had an emitter burn up in a light and Vinh was very helpful explaining all of the options to bring it back to life. His P60 light engines are fantastic at bringing old surefires into the modern era and I carry one every day. Vinh has built me a couple of dive lights that are unmatched under water and outperform almost anything you can buy off the shelf. I'm sure I'll be back for many years to come.

Justin DAugust 26, 2025Sky Lumen MMXXV Basically a no compromises edc. The only downside of this light is the width of the head but that cant be shrunk without loosing throw. The beam is absolutely gourgous. Perfectly round with no artifacts make this light feel much more expensive than it is. Having the additional driver potting and the 100C thermal limit makes turbo actually last for longer than a couple second. I get about a minute or so before noticable dimming which is great for searching in a large field.

I use my lights in difficult environment and for years everything I carry has been from Sky Lumen. I've never had a light fail in ten + years of using them. I use a headlamp, an LEP, wide angle and narrow angle flashlights with specific tints to suit my needs. All are the best available at the time I bought them, all are Sky Lumen.

This is a tactical EDC that I think is above my expectations, by only using a small 18350 battery, it has a balanced beam distribution between flood and throw, a maximum beam distance of 470m, very easy and comfortable operation with a rotary switch.

Ken Cumming Manker Timeback II, Jetbram RRT01vn, FWAAVnI have two of your lights - a Manker Timeback II with SST-20 4000K FD2 bin, and an FWAA copper with flamed Ti pill and dedomed 519a 5000k Purchased in 2021/2022 and 2024 respectively. Got my first RRT01 Raptor (Skylumen mod)👌 I wasn't interested in this light until I held one - I thought they were big and ugly. But it's quite small (see size comparison), and has a fugly utilitarianism like Zebralight (including the tough grey anodization).

I was also not impressed with the output and stock emitter options (apparently the stock 219c is low CRI and very green). Enter Skylumen, who sells RRT01 Raptors for a very reasonable price, with your choice of emitter and option to have the clip, bezel insert, and tailshroud etched and flamed. I chose the dedomed 519a 5000k of course, and that works well here. The corona is a bit misshapen, but otherwise has an intense hotspot. Output is good - on max, it's about the same as the 3A Lume1 (FET disabled) FW1 from Luke Adair, so about 700-800 lumens (see photo with FW1 on left).

The magnetic control ring is fantastic - and a key reason I wanted one. The tailswitch is great - firm and short travel.

All told, I love the light already, and the flamed accents make it something special

With that said, I now limit myself to USB-C rechargable flashlights to make gift-giving a simpler process, as explaning to someone how to use a Lithium Ion charger and fearing unsafe practices severly limits who I am willing to gift these to, in addition to making me buy them chargers for a complete gift package. USB-C is the only option at this point. I keep about 4-7 flashlights at all times in my collection. When I dont own a flashlight in each size/use category, I feel like something is missing. That is the case, and reason that I purchased this ultra thrower/large flashlight, the CONVOY 3X21Dvn. 3x21700 is amazing battery life, even with a power-hungry SBT90. The only thing I don't like about this light is how rarely I use it, due to its size. That issue however is not specific to the CONVOY 3X21Dvn, but rather, any light of its size class. Everyone needs an ultra thrower, for the wow-factor even if only turned on and taken outside 2-3 times a year in the winter. Its a simple joy that small lights cannot deliver. The price was right, at $154.54. Even though I will never jacket carry it due to size/weight, I will pack it with me for special outdoor night adventures. The fact that it doubles as a power bank to charge other devices is very much appreciated for emergency scenarios. Vinh did a beautiful job on this mod, no issues at all and I am confident of its durability/longevity thanks to his excellent attention to detail and inspection. I don't get that feeling when I buy a light stock, fearing quality control. The extra money is worth it, every time. Because of his longstanding trustworthiness, I have two more flashlights on the way! (Sofirn IF22Avn SFT42Rs - 2x, one as a gift!)

Marvin L.September 26,20252015 Fenix TK75VNOut of All the many lights I have bought from u in the past, I'm sure I at least helped u pay your mortgage at least once, so I'm glad I could do that, and as much as I still want to get back into it, unfortunately I have a wife and two children to feed now, and they can't eat flashlights or 21700 batteries. Trust me I tried, something about it not being food even tho it's a good source of energy, go figure. Anyways all the lights u modded for me are still running perfectly up till this day. Except the the 2015 Fenix TK75 with 4x XHP70s dedomed you modded for me and it still works, but the reflector around the led can't handle the heat and melted around the reflector and now has a bubbly orange peel look. I was looking for a replacement reflector at that time but never found one. So not sure who's fault this is. Fenix for a subpar reflector? you for over doing it? Or me for paying u to do it? I'll take the blame, besides it still works and is just as bright! Hope your doing well and Thanks for everything!

Matt H.September 26, 2025Prometheus Delta LED Mod, lanyards, vinyl diffuser I sent Vihn some Nichia 219Bs in 4000K and he swapped out the original LEDs - 5000K is too white for me. He also measured the output of my new setup. I am much happier and I appreciate this service. The lanyards are very practical, though a little bit more effort is needed to get them around large (okay, huge) hands. I haven't tried out the vinyl diffusors yet and love the idea of them - a simple solution to suddenly have a "floody."
