Q: There are dockless bikes operating near the Blue Bikes service area. What will happen with them?
Blue Bikes is the only bike share system permitted to operate in Cambridge, Boston, Somerville, and Brookline. Other bike share companies operating in neighboring communities will have contracts that require them to monitor and manage their bikes. We will monitor the situation and develop appropriate protocols to ensure that only permitted bicycles are operating in our communities.
For more information about Blue Bikes and bike share in Cambridge, please contact Cara Seiderman, cseiderman@cambridgema.gov, 617/349-4629.

electric scooters might be entirely illegal in MA without turn signals/brake lights
no permitting process for dockless in Cambridge/Somerville/Brookline/Boston(?)
