43HeldElizabethI have been an active voter since I was 18 and have worked with community groups like the Gay and Lesbian Archives and Books to Prisoners but am new to the more formal party-oriented form of politics. I’m excited to learn more and be engaged.I work in a middle school to support kids with social and emotional needs. I am constantly thinking about the impending climate crisis and have spent the last several weeks coordinating with 350PDX to host the student climate strike and demand an Oregon Green New Deal. As a queer woman I’m also concerned with lgbt rights.I am looking forward to being directly engaged with the party process and learning more about our democratic systems.

36RichardAbigailAllenActor, poet, punk. BA Reed College 1984, MA UW 1990. My great grandmother got Bradley the D nomination for mayor of Los Angeles. My mother was investigated by the FBI for her fair housing work, after which we lived in Canada for 7 years. My grandfather wrote The Time Machine, 1960. I've lived in France, India, and Puerto Rico.I worked for the King County Democrats as the 1st Field Canvass Director and then was the 2nd Field Canvass Director/Phone Bank Director in the mid 1980s. We developed a voter list so good the state party broke in and stole it. As far as I can tell, we were far ahead of our time and still ahead of this time. I also worked at the legislature in Olympia a couple times. I ran a phone bank for a peace newspaper in Seattle mid 1980s. Belonged to OSPIRG early 1980s. Member of first WashPIRG canvass, 1982. Worked for Puget Sound Cooperative Federation briefly, also 1980s. Proud (though inactive) member UFCW.Election of a lifetime coming up. I answered the call when I was young. We saw what was coming. Now it's time to go all out again.

36SharafKatherineElizabethI'm originally from the East coast and lived and worked in DC before moving to Portland 8 years ago. I have a professional background in health care policy and a masters in public policy, and before having kids I worked in Federal and State government. Since having kids 6.5 years ago I have been a stay at home mom, but in the past year and a half I have become very involved with Indivisible (I am on the steering committee for Indivisible Oregon and am volunteer coordinator), and helped start and lead the Stand On Every Corner PDX group organizing neighborhood protests throughout the Portland area, with a particular focus on impeachment in the past year.I have volunteered with democratic campaigns, including a lot of work in the 2018 midterms with Indivisible Oregon (on both OR-2 and WA-3 congressional races), but I haven't ever been part of the Democratic party previously. I am very involved in political activist groups as mentioned above.I am very involved in political activism but haven't been very involved in the Democratic party up until now - this seems like a great way to get plugged in, learn more, and contribute to the Democratic party in our area!
