Forest Botanical Planting Stock Suppliers
2
Welcome! The following compilation is an alphabetical list of suppliers known to Appalachian Sustainable Development (ASD), including forest farmers, non-profits, universities, and nurseries. ASD does not officially endorse these suppliers, but rather is making this list available to help facilitate connections between forest botanical suppliers and customers seeking bulk and retail planting stock. This list is not exhaustive and we are continually looking to update it over time. If you or someone you know would like to be added to this list, please contact Katie Commender, ASD's Agroforestry Program Director, at 276-623-1121 or kcommender@asdevelop.org.

Source Responsibly
5
In the interest of conservation of forest botanicals in their wild habitats, we encourage buyers to ask suppliers where they source their planting stock. Is it wild harvested? If so, from where? Did they have landowner permission to harvest? If nursery grown, what kinds of pesticides and fungicides are used, if any? There may not be a way to verify the answers to these questions, but we believe it is important to let suppliers know that consumers are paying attention to these sourcing concerns. Buy wisely!
