Hi Pre-Global Studies majors! We know it can be tricky figuring out the timing of when to take your History pre-major cluster courses - we hope this document helps clarify current plans for timing of these different courses.

You cannot skip taking pre-major courses and take upper division Global deparment classes (unless specifically invited to do so), but please reach out to us if you are having trouble finding a course to complete your cluster

You do NOT need to take your cluster courses in any special order, just take them as soon as they show up and fit into your schedule!

Community college options also exist (especially good for folks who need to catch up or want to work on pre-major courses over the summer while not at UCSB) - just look very carefully at the agreement document published on Assist.org for the Global Studies major and reach out to global-advising@ucsb.edu with questions
