To ensure a level playing field, and to appease dietary preferences (*cough* luke's a vegetarian *cough), we opted to limit the scope of this experiment to thin crust, cheese pizzas only. All pizzas were purchased from the Cub Foods at the Quarry in NE Minneapolis, except for the Bellatoria, which was previously purchased from Target, also in the Quarry. Price still unclear on the Bellatoria pizza.

Ideally, all pizzas would be cooked according to the instructions on their boxes in separate ovens and would finish cooking at exactly the same time. But that's not reasonable (who the heck has 6 ovens at their disposal?).

We were limited to the simultaneous use of 2 ovens (which is pretty good all things considered), and so we opted to cut each frozen pizza in half, and place one half of each on a sheet of foil, all the while keeping track of which is which (let's be honest, that's the hardest part). Once cooked, each half pizza would be cut into 8 thin strips, so each piece includes a sampling of both the center and crust of the pizza. Plus, we don't want everyone to get too full.

Tastings will be conducted without knowledge of the pizza being tasted, so as not to skew or bias any taster's opinions of said pizza. Numbers will be used to track the specimens, and ratings and reviews will be attributed to said numbers.

Judging criteria, based on a scale of 1 to 5 (with 5 being the highest):
1) Topping Flavor: does it taste good?
2) Topping Texture: is the texture good?
3) Crust Flavor: does it taste good?
4) Crust Texture: is the texture good?
5) Overall: overall, how would you rate the experience of eating this pizza?
6) Other notes

After judges have submitted their scores, Value will be calculated as the average overall ranking divided by the price per serving. Then, the pizzas will be ranked based on 1) overall score, and 2) value.

Once rankings have been determined, the pizza brands will be revealed, and rankings/notes from the judges will be shared with all participants.
