Collage ClubMrs. Bell - Make exhibit poster collages and smaller take-home ones. Collect magazine pictures of nature and our changing world now.

Craft ClubFalkner - Rm. 192AThursdaysThe purpose of the craft club is to enable students to work on different crafts in a calm atmosphere after school. Crafts may include painting, drawing, origami, scrapbooking, crocheting, knitting, and coloring, to name a few. However, this club will not include woodworking crafts.

The BEMS Drama Club puts on a play every fall just before Halloween. Our season starts the week that the Activity buses start, with auditions and then rehearsals begin. We do straight plays for two seasons and a musical every third year. We try to find room for every student who is interested.

GSA ClubPease - Rm 133Tuesdays - year longWe will meet with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, questioning folks, as well as allies, following the public resources available while guiding a student run organization with aims to make our community welcoming and safe to all.

Jazz BandRaymond - Rm 180 (Band room)Tuesdays - winterJazz band is an invitation only club, students have to be in band to be invited into jazz band. We play higher level music and we attend district and state festivals where we are critiqued by judges from all over New England.

Lego RoboticsRuby/Falkner - Rm 156Tuesdays - year longFirst Lego League Robotics Team. The FLL team learns about robot design and programming using Lego EV3 mindstorm kits. Every year First Lego League presents a new challenge that involves a project and robotic games. Students follow the FLL Core Values while they work to complete the challenge.

Math Team 7th/8thMartin - Rm 160Thursdays - year longThe 7th and 8th Grade Math Team has practice afterschool on Thursdays in Room 160. We compete as part of the Southern Maine Math League. There are 20-28 other middle schools that participate in four (4) meets throughout the school year. The types of problems challenge 7th and 8th grade students to focus on applying math concepts and there are problems that students will not typically see in their regular classes.

National History DayLord - Rm 124TBDMaine National History Day is co-organized by the University of Maine and the Margaret Chase Smith Library.
Students select a topic relating to a national theme. Using primary and secondary resources, students research a topic and present conclusions in one of the following ways:

Research Paper: Traditional academic paper, complete with citations

Exhibit: Museum-style exhibit using images, text, and supporting resources

Documentary: 10-minute video combining images and analytical narration

Performance: 10-minute live performance using actual or composite character

Website: Web-based collection of interactive pages

Newspaper/Yearbook ClubDemaris - Rm 104Alterntaing TuesdaysNewspaper Club creates articles, interviews, stories, comics, games, and all the content for our school publication, The Paper. We publish editions monthly or bi-monthly, and we accept outside submissions if anyone wants to send us content. We have students from all grade levels, and we are happy to help train you to interview, write articles, proofread stories, and all the skills you would need to succeed. You just need a willing attitude and the time to join! Yearbook Club designs, organizes, markets, and fills the school yearbook, the Sporran (named for that little pouch you see on kilts). Students meet every other Tuesday with Mr. DeMaris, with occasional additional meetings as needed, to plan photography, design pages, create and place posters, and do all the little things that make the book a success. If you like to take photos, if you enjoy making posters, if you want to spend time designing pages and figuring out what goes where, this would be a fun club for you! Space is very limited and it fills up quickly, so please contact Mr. DeMaris early in the year if you are interested.

Rock Band ClubChristensen/Raymond - Rm 180 (Band room)Mondays - winterRock Band is open to anyone that plays guitar, bass, drumset, or any other "rock band" instrument. We learn modern songs and learn how to work together to create a musical group.

Spring PathfindersAvery/Pease/Drinkwater - Rm 131TBDPathfinders is a 8-10 week outdoor adventure program for kids. We foster stewardship, leadership, citizenship, teamwork, and academic growth.

Student CouncilNorton - Rm 1061st Tuesday of each monthStudent Council helps to share students' ideas, interests, and concerns with staff and administration. They often also help to raise funds for schoolwide activities, including social events, community projects, helping people in need, and school reform.

Ultimate Frisbee ClubTharpe - TBD
Tuesdays and Thursdays in the spring
Ultimate Frisbee is a game that combines elements of basketball and football. If either of these sports interest you, this club may be for you! Ultimate Frisbee Club is a club for students who are interested in learning how to play the game of Ultimate beyond gym class! This club will include learning the rules of Ultimate Frisbee and how to play offense and defense.

This club will start sometime in April and run for 5 weeks, two times a week. The club will be limited in space to ensure every club member has a chance to properly learn and apply the skills that are taught.

Winter PathfindersAvery/Atkinson/Loveless - Rm 131
Monday & Thursday 11/28 to 2/16
The winter pathfinders team meets during the months of December, January, and early February to develop winter skills in preparation for a week long camping trips. During meetings, students learn about winter camping skills and safety, as well as winter activities like snow showing, cross country skiing, outdoor cooking, and shelter building. There is also a strong emphasis on helping students to set personal and academic goals and working to meet those goals during our meetings. Students must complete weekly progress reports during our season and receive endorsements from each of their teachers importer to be eligible for the week long camping trip at the end of the season. You can have a teacher recommend you for the team or self refer but completing the interest survey on the pathfinders website.

Wood workers ClubHirst - ShopTuesdays- year longThe Woodworker's Club will introduce new students to the techniques of creating woodworking projects and allow returning students to continue to grow their woodworking abilities.
