It all began when I discovered an improvement rom hack for Zelda Link's Awakening, I realized how I could potentially change old games for the better.
So I started gathering more improvement rom hacks and it got out of hand, I needed a way to document which hacks I'm using. So I created this spreadsheet for myself to make note of every hack that I'm using. I spent countless hours discovering new hacks and compiling everything to this list. It made me appreciate my roms more and I started backing up my collection to cloud storage for safety. These classic games will be with me forever so I may as well make the best of them. I decided to share this list with everyone by posting it on Reddit and Discord, which is likely how you found this list.

Note that this list is completely subjective, you may not agree with every hack listed here. But feel free to browse and see what hacks work for you. This list is essentially just my own list, shared with the community. It's not a list of all existing improvement rom hacks or a community-made list. Feel free to share this spreadsheet around with others who may appreciate these kind of hacks! Or spread the word about some of these amazing hacks.

I will be updating this list with new improvement hacks as they come along. I check romhacking .net once a day to stay on top of new hacks. Even in 2021, new hacks are being made which is incredible! I have a lot of appreciation for these improvement hacks, some are just phenomenal! But some are miniscule hacks that only change a few things. Huge thanks to ShadowOne333 who consistently makes the best improvement hacks out there! I cannot live without most of these quality of life hacks. It creates definitive versions of past games and makes them more fun to revisit time and time again.
