16	Privacy regulators in the European Union agreed to a new set of guidelines that would apply the EU's right-to-be-forgotten censorship to all versions of Google worldwide. The rules would apply to other search engines as well. The social blogging platform's active user base grew by 120% in the last six months according to a new report by the Global Web Index. Compare that with Facebook, which grew by just 2% in the same period. Facebook is still by far the biggest with 1.35 billion active monthly users. 29	A Dutch citizen named Hammad Akbar plead guilty yesterday to selling the StealthGenie mobile-phone spyware and was fined $500,000. After being installed on an OS, Android or BlackBerry smartphone, StealthGenie could invisibly record calls, texts, photos, emails and other data. Akbar, who was the chief executive of the company that made StealthGenie, allegedly sold a copy to an undercover agent in late 2012. The FBI nabbed him, and he confessed. He was also ordered to forfeit the source code to the government. 34	Netflix is suing Yahoo CIO Mike Kail taking kickbacks while in his previous job as a vice president at Netflix, according to Recode. Kail headed IT operations until three months ago. He was in charge of contracts and invoices for the companies that Netflix bought IT equipment from. Without Netflix knowing at the time, Kail owned a company Unix Mercenary, which was taking a 12-15% commission on invoices being paid by Netflix. 52	Twitter is trying to buy Shots, a selfie photo-sharing app backed by Justin Bieber. The app has just over 3 million users, mostly women and girls under the age of 24. In fact, news of the talks was accidentally revealed by Twitter CFO Anthony Noto, who tweeted publically what he thought was a private DM. His Tweet said: "I still think we should buy them. He is on your schedule for Dec 15 or 16 -- we will need to sell him. I have a plan." From there, CNBC found a source close to Shots that provided more information. 68	We told you Monday about a European parliament resolution that includes an option to break up Google. Now the New York Times is reporting that the author of that resolution, whose name is Andreas Schwab, works for the German law firm CMS Hasche Sigle, which has represented some of the German publishing companies that are so vexed about Google. A disclosure filing shows that he earns between $15,000 to $75,000 annually from the law firm. While such ties are illegal in the United States, they are allowed in Europe, although European law requires that they be disclosed. Schwab claims that his resolution is "based on a neutral assessment of the facts," and not on the interest of his law firm's clients.
