16	A grand jury last night decided to not to indict Ferguson, Missouri, police Officer Darren Wilson in the August shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. The announcement triggered an immediate explosion of commentary and coverage of the announcement itself as well as the protests, looting, fires and gunfire that ensued. In his preamble to the announcement, St. Louis prosecuting attorney Bob McCulloch spent several minutes slamming the media and also social media for rampant speculation and rumor-mongering. 24	Sony Pictures got hacked yesterday. Employees logging on to their computers were confronted with a picture of a CGI skeleton, a list of URLs and a message from #GOP. The hack paralyzed the company for the entire day yesterday and the paralysis reportedly continues today. The list of URLs appear to point to the locations of documents related to employee records that the hacker or group of hackers is threatening to release in a blackmail attempt. 34	Microsoft is suing the Internal Revenue Service. The company wants information about a law firm hired by the IRS to review accounting of sales between Microsoft subsidiaries. The lawsuit filed yesterday says the IRS contracted the law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, paying them over $2 million to examine Microsoft's tax returns between the years 2004 and 2009. 67	Various publications are reporting that Microsoft has deployed security robot to patrol its Redmond, Washington, campus, and that the software giant was one of the first companies to embrace the use of security robots. Today, the site Emergent, which is maintained by the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University and exists to confirm stories in the news as either true or false reported that this story is in fact false. What really happened was that robots from a company called Knightsbridge and which are called K5 robots, were on the Microsoft campus recently for a demonstration.
