Alabama AchievesRobin McGill, robin.mcgill@ache.eduSeptember 30thIn Alabama, the state certification process for adding credentials to the Compendium of Valuable Credentials follows an annual review cycle with key deadlines. All credential submissions must be reviewed by the Technical Advisory Committees (TACs) by September 30. Following this, the Alabama Committee on Credentialing and Career Pathways votes to adopt or reject the recommended credentials by October 31. Once approved, the official list is published no later than January 1 and becomes effective starting July 1 of that year.To have a certification considered for Alabama’s Compendium of Valuable Credentials, it must first be created and published in the Alabama Credential Registry (ACR) with all required information completed. The credential should align with the state's criteria for value such as being linked to high-demand, high-wage occupations, stackable in career pathways, industry-recognized, and portable across employers. Supporting documentation like employer letters or wage data may be submitted to strengthen the application. Once complete, the credential is submitted to the appropriate Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for review. After approval, it will be officially included in the Compendium and searchable in the Talent Triad portal.https://hub.ebscoed.com/hc/en-us/articles/27692250133139-Create-a-credential-for-your-institution?https://www.alabamaachieves.org/career-and-technical-education/cte-resources/N/A
