8/18/2018 16:57:32Jeff ExpendableYouth)78190"This cigar is sporting a dark oily wrapper with tight wrap lines and a well applied triple cap. The wrap lines are tight and smooth, although there are a lot of small veins running throughout the length of the stick, and has a very nice box pressed shape. This is overall a really nice looking cigar. " -Jeff (ExpendableYouth)92.5"The aroma on the foot of the cigar is a heavy leather, light pepper, and barnyard finish. This is quite the intriguing combination and I'm pretty excited to light this up. " -Jeff (ExpendableYouth)90MildMedium"The cigar had an initial bitterness which drowned out the main profile but this subsided about a quarter-inch into the stick. The bitterness is still there but it has subsided behind the leather, tea, cedar, and dark espresso notes. The burn on this cigar has been a bit wavy and uneven, requiring a touchup during the first-third, but otherwise the smoke output and construction has been really good. The retrohale has a bitter coco and espresso note that is really pleasant and complementary of the main profile. " -Jeff (ExpendableYouth)90MediumMedium"The second-third has the same bitter espresso, cedar, leather, and earthiness as the previous third. There is a light amount of pepper that sits on the tongue throughout this third, but is not really noticeable during the actual draw. I think the overall bitterness of the main profile is drowning it out a bit. The overall bitterness of the cigar is not overwhelming but it has been pretty persistent. The construction, burn, and draw has improved since the one and only touchup. " -Jeff (ExpendableYouth)90MediumMedium"The final-third has been the best overall. The bitterness of the earlier thirds has mostly receded but is still noticeable as an overall component of the espresso note. The cedar, mineral, and pepper are still present but a slight sweetness has appeared and is rounding the profile out nicely. The retrohale has a rich tobacco and woodiness which is a transition from the earlier thirds. " -Jeff (ExpendableYouth)87.5"The draw had a nice amount of resistance but the smoke output was kind of weak throughout the experience. " -Jeff (ExpendableYouth)87.5"The burn started out pretty wavy but after a touchup it smoked like a champ." -Jeff (ExpendableYouth)95"The construction was spot on. " -Jeff (ExpendableYouth)87.5"The cigar started out overly bitter but as it progressed the underlying profile began to shine through. It really wasn't until the last third that the cigar really started to shine with notes of tea, espresso, mineral, cedar, and intermittent sweetness that I could never quite put my finger on. This is one of those cigars that I wish I had a second one to review to see if I could better gauge the overall experience since I feel that there was a lot of promise but something just didn't quite click for me. I’m anxious to try this stick." -Diana (ArmyRN)87.5"Nice sweet hay mixed with a mild barnyard is noted with the sniffing of the wrapper and foot. The dry draw is similar and no pungent flavors or smells are noted. I’m hoping for sweetness in this smoke but we shall see." -Diana (ArmyRN)87.5MediumMedium"I didn’t get the sweet that I thought maybe was there but it is a nice dash of cocoa out of the gate and there is a hint of leather. Retro produced some pepper. But alas the cigar seems to have sputtered and stalled. It sort of got mundane for me with not much complexity. Flavor is ok but not enough for my palette. I’m hoping for progression." -Diana (ArmyRN)87.5MediumMedium"Not much has changed except for a bit of a mineral flavor. I really want more from this as I believe it has the potential but it just won’t pop. It has a woodsy taste that is pleasant and there is nothing particularly wrong with the cigar but still not complex enough for me." -Diana (ArmyRN)87.5MediumMedium"This smoke still remains unimpressive for me. The mix of wood and mineral is pleasant but again, I’m not getting enough else to make this a winner for me. The smoke is plentiful and the wooziness is nice as the retro brings the mix of mineral is very pleasant." -Diana (ArmyRN)90"The draw was great with this cigar.
