Groupbuy	I adjusted the bottom row to negate the extra length of a standard 7u spacebar when compared to the nominal length of a 7u spacebar with 18.9 mm as the switch spacing (only possible with a fixed WKL layout). The left and right alt keys are ever so slightly offset away from the spacebar to account for the lower switch spacing. Sadly, due to this, I can only offer WKL kits.	01/07/2022
4	3	any chance of a serial # or something for each on the inside / scribed into the weight?	Design	Serial numbers are definitely something I want to add for the groupbuy as atleast to me it adds a layer of sentimental value. However, adding one will surely increase the projected cost, which I know is not wanted by many. Thus, I am currently looking at adding authencity cards with a model number and QC date instead of engraving it directly onto the weight, I will provide an update to what I decide on.	01/07/2022
5	4	Will this work with SA?	Misc.	Assuming that a 1u SA keycap is around 18.20 mm, there should be enough room where there is no interference between the keycaps. That is a good point however and I will mount SA keycaps on the board to verify this weekend. I did not notice any interference with the KAT keycaps I had mounted previously but I will also test those again.	01/07/2022	Prototype post of the IC has an updated section with a running list of all keycaps that I have verified to work with Calla aswell as my personal observations of each.	So far MT3 caps were the only caps I had difficulty removing due to them being much larger at the base compared to various cherry keycaps. There was no interference while typing.
6	5	What is the benefit of reducing the switch spacing by a fraction of a mm?	Design	The purpose of reducing the switch spacing is to reduce the gap between the keycaps. Compared to the standard 19.05 mm spacing, 18.9 mm spacing ends up reducing the gap between keycap edges by around 15%.	01/07/2022

8	7	How did you come up with switch spacing? Low as possible without issues?	Design	I landed on 18.9 mm as the switch spacing due to three+1 reasons. First, standard keycap pullers begin to have trouble fitting in between keycaps past 18.9 mm (works but becomes increasingly awkward with lower spacings). Second, as you further reduce the keycap spacing, it becomes more difficult to accomodate longer keycaps, as those longer keycaps were made with the assumption of being used in a board with 19.05 mm spacing. Third, I wanted to maintain a somewhat consistent keycap edge to keycap edge and keycap edge to case wall distance, lower switch spacings made this cumbersome. Lastly, as a somewhat silly reason, I wanted the switch spacing to closely resemble the OTD mini's switch spacing of 18.875 mm.	01/09/2022	https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=87603.0	Fun tidbit aswell, during development of Calla, I started with a switch spacing of 18.8 mm but moved to 18.9 mm due to these reasons.
9	8	Price estimate?	Groupbuy	I've been getting this question a lot and I felt the need the address this. I am targetting a base cost of $500 before shipping. However, with the low unit count and changing metal/international shipping prices, the quotes I have received have been fluctuating sporadically and it is difficult to know if my target price will hold by the group buy date. Also, I do not want to promise one price during IC but sell at a higher one out of necessity during the GB. I have been holding off from providing a concrete price for these reasons, but have come to realize that it may be better to provide at least a loose target price so people may plan accordingly in this sea of group buys. By the second prototype, I will try to have a more concrete unit cost. So, TLDR: Target price of $500 USD before shipping, but price increases of up to 15% is possible due to the low volume/processing and QC costs/fluctuating metal and shipping prices/global pandemic.	01/09/2022	Updated the IC post to match.
10	9	will there be way to opt-out of the top engraving?	Groupbuy	With the current unit count, I doubt I would be able to provide an option to opt out of the top engraving. That said, if there is enough interest that I could increase unit count, I am not opposed to adding this as an option if there are no downsides.	01/09/2022
11	10	Why are there no hotswap options?	Groupbuy	I opted for a solder PCB in the base group buy kit as I believe it to be the most versatile. The buyer is not constrained to only MX or only full plate builds and can instead configure in whatever way that they choose. I have been receiving alot of requests for a hotswap PCB so I will look into providing a MX only hotswap PCB as an extra.	01/09/2022	Drafting of hotswap PCB has been started. Planning to order at the same time as the second prototype. (02/03/2022)	Hotswap PCB design is completed! Will prototype the design after receiving and verifying the solder board as it uses the same pinout and firmware. (02/21/2022)
12	11	Will there be a worldwide/international vendor?	Groupbuy	There are currently no worldwide or international vendors for Calla, especially with the current number of units. I will try my best to accomodate for all international shipping instances in a case by case basis. 13	12	Is the USB cutout going to be changed?	Design	This was recently brought to my attention and I am working to resolve this issue by both expanding the cutout and reducing its depth. I was caught up in making a deep recessed port and had overlooked cable compatibility. I plan on releasing dimensions for the cutout slightly before ordering the second prototype aswell so people may find out if their cables fit or not. Design	Recently its been brought to my attention that Zambu's SKUF can also be sourced easily through vendors, so I am changing the bumpons used on Calla to SKUF for the second prototype. If I find it to be a positive change, I will switch the bumpons to SKUF for the group buy as well.	01/29/2022

18	17	Will you open source the case foam?	Groupbuy	I see no reason I can't. I hadn't thought of this as I don't believe there has been a precendent for releasing foam files but I can see how people would like to get their own foam cut for their board. Releasing the plate foam dxf and drafting a case foam dxf should be possible after the group buy.	02/04/2022	Just to summarize that means PCB files, plate files, and foam files are being released post-group buy. Under what license is up for consideration but personal use will most definitely be allowed.	PCB files will be released but I am still planning on running annual PCB group buys as ordering PCBs is a much more difficult process than ordering foam/plates. (02/04/2022)
19	18	Is the board designed with foam in mind?	Design	I had not designed the board with foam in mind. That said, I believe it is the right of the builder to decide if they want to add foam to the board or not. So, I intend to have PE foam available as extras and will release foam files after the groupbuy so that anyone can get any material cut to their content.	02/04/2022
