PurposeRainbow Union is an advocacy-centered organization with social opportunities based in education and support. RU meets once a week at 8 PM on Wednesdays in the CAYA House where we shift from casual conversations to vibrant discussions depending on what the membership feels is important. We participate in National Coming Out Week, Pride Week, the Transgender Day of Remembrance, and the Day of Silence, among other things. We put on semesterly drag shows to raise money for Iowa Safe Schools as well as host Other Prom, a prom alternative for LGBTQIA+ high schoolers. RU invites ALL students to join and participate and, as always, makes no assumptions about a person’s sexuality in our safe space.

Why YOU Should Join!Rainbow Union has worked hard to create a safe space and network of support for our members that is a very useful resource for everyone within it. Consider joining to find a place where you can be fully yourself among a community of other LGBTQ+ people and some fantastic allies. You can help further the impact of RU on campus by participating in outreach events like Pride Week or our biannual drag shows!
