What do I do?
Hi, I'm Finlay, the maker of this leveling guide / heirloom calculator.

This guide is meant to help you when leveling your alts. After you pick a class, you can
turn to this guide to help you buy Heirloom gear, enchants and keep refering to it for talents
and glyphs as you level. The addon list is also pretty useful and will get you on the right track.
Feel free to make your own guide based on this one, but please credit me.
I made this with the help of many friends and sources, check the patch notes.
This guide is currently up to date for
in the Warlords of Draenor expansion.
I no longer play the game, so the guide may not see consistent updates.
Nevertheless, if you find it useful please consider donating what you can.

make a copy of this spreadsheet
|You can't make changes and use the guide to its full potential until you make a copy of it|
under your own google account. Make sure you are signed in to your google account, and
go up to the "File" Menu and select "Make a copy..." This image shows the menu option selected.
Make you sure to come back to these instructions in your own copy.
tell us which heirlooms you already have
You will have to go into the "Heirlooms I have" tab, which you will find at the bottom of your browser window.
There you can put a "1" into the appropriate column for any Lv 60, Lv 90 or Lv 100 gear you may already have.
You can check which heirlooms you have and what their level are in-game through the "collections" button on your UI.
pick a class, mark down heirlooms
On each class tab below, you will find recommended specializations and gear.
All recommendations are ranked, from the first being what I believe to be the best, to the worst shown last.
If you will want to equip heirloom listed, put a "1" in the "Equip" box for that item.
check how much it will cost you
Finally, you can check the "Heirlooms will cost" tab to see a tally of the costs for all outstanding items and upgrades.
The ones you marked "Equip" get special attention, and get their own tally.
This should help you plan your gold making strategies and dailies.
Where's the leveling guide?
While I won't be outlining what areas to level in, you can find a basic guide to leveling specs,
priorities, heirloom items and enchants I think is best for leveling on each class tab below.
What is the fastest way to level?
I recommend that you quest with a leveling addon. If you get bored or ganked, then pop into a dungeon,
or better yet switch to an alt in another area. I believe this is the fastest way to level in World of Warcraft.
There are many ways to level however, so make use of them all and most importantly have fun doing it!
this is the fastest way to level
less variety of content, lower experience, only works for tank and healer specs
poor xp for time spent, but can be fun to twink through each bracket
‣ AOE Mob Grinding
sometimes works, but blizzard nerfs them regularly when they are effective
Additionally, I assume that instant cast damage (usually melee) is better for questing than all other specs.
Casting (both cast times and mana restrictions) usually slow you down and don't outweight the range advantage.
This guide is a starting point for specs and gear. It is not a good twinking guide.
See TwinkInfo website for that
It's aim is to maximize the ease and speed of leveling with the least hassle to the player as possible.
I found the spec recommended boring
Different players like different playstyles. Feel free to try out a different spec for leveling.
With the exception of healer, this expansion has made nearly all specs viable.
