Revenue is vanity. Profit is sanity. Cash is reality.

How to use this free calculator
5
1. Type your own numbers into the BLUE cells only. Every black figure is a formula that updates automatically — you never need to touch it. Start with your Beginning Cash Balance (Week 1), then enter your expected weekly Receipts (money in) and Disbursements (money out).
6
2. This sheet is pre-filled with an EXAMPLE business so you can see how it behaves. To build your own forecast, just type over the blue example figures (or clear them and start fresh).
7
3. The Short-Term Funding section is your early-warning system. Any week where 'New Funding Drawn' or 'Funding Outstanding' is highlighted AMBER, your own cash isn't enough to stay above your Minimum Cash Buffer — your cue to act early (chase invoices, delay non-essential spend, or line up an overdraft before you need it). If Ending Cash Balance ever turns RED you are forecast to run out of cash entirely that week.
