New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE)Download (stable version 5.1b4). Extract the files into the New Vegas folder, outside of the Data folder.Gives a huge chunk of these mods the resources needed to do what they doAdds a bunch of these "function" things that scripts use.
3
FNV 4GB PatcherWorks with the GOG version now to let you automatically use NVSE. Extract the contents into the main NV folder, then run the patcher.I assume you have more than 2GB of RAM. This thing lets the game use more than those 2GB. Now it can use 4GB!After patching, don't use the NVSE version to launch the game. It automatically loads it in when you use any other method to launch the game.
4
JIP LN NVSE PluginNewest version. Install normally through MO.Like the above but super deluxe addonAdds more of those "function" things. Still in active development.
5
NVAC - New Vegas Anti CrashCan be installed normally through MO. Get the newest version, ignore the beta.Uses magic to deal with things that would otherwise cause crashes.I don't know about you, but I don't enjoy having a game crash. Some crashes might slip through if you're using a bad mod, or your computer is haunted, though.
6
New Vegas Stutter RemoverInstall via MO, right click "data" and select "set data directory" during installation.Use step 5 of this guide for configuring NVSR, IT HAS A FIX FOR WINDOWS 10 CRASHING
7
OneTweak for FNVInstall normally via MO.This is the only thing that's ever let me tab out of the game, and then back in.
8
Yukichigai Unofficial Patch - YUPVersion 11.3 released May 2018THE bugfix compilation. Everything else is outdated by at least two years. So many bugs, misplaced items, incorrect stats...
9
Weapon Mesh Improvement ModWill conflict with things like WMX, WME, EVE, *Now works with WRPFixes issues in parts of the weapon meshes I didn't know existed. That the parts themselves existed, that is. I'll be referring to this as WMIM. New acronym, would be nice if it could join the ranks of the other popular ones.Best used for an enhanced vanilla playthrough or any setup that doesn't involve anything that adds weapon mods. WRP was updated to work with it though. (Though WRP is still mostly vanilla resolution and has some silly changes made based on taste.)
10
Unofficial Patch PlusUpdated May 2018YUP doesn't fix things that would require script extenders to fix. These are those fixes.Honestly, some stuff had to be broken to fix stuff. A few shooting related tradeoffs, read the descriptions. ***LETS YOU SET A KEY TO CANCEL VATS LIKE FO4 VIA MCM***
11
Unofficial Patch NVSEAlternate to Unofficial Patch PlusSame as above but with fewer things. Technically only one gameplay tweak.
12
The Mod Configuration MenuMake sure you grab "MCM Bugfix2" as wellMost mods (that can be configured) will be configured through this. That thing that FO4 recently got.
13
Gate Sound FixFixes being able to hear the gates in Freeside from anywhere.Fixes a handful of sounds that were too loud for the distance.
14
Fix for the Caesar Legion ArmorsReplaces my incredibly small fix mod.Fixes a ton of mesh issues with Legion armor. The things you don't even notice (or do notice and then stop noticing). Mesh fixes are the best.
15
Throwable Weapon FixesSome of these fixes may end up in WMIM.
16
Reactivated Hit TopicsNPCs have more things to say, but the game wasn't letting them.Super small but neat

ALWAYS READ THE MOD DESCRIPTIONSIf playing for the first time, skip everything in the Mechanics section after the two Ragdoll mods.SciRika @ Nexus Mods

Not installed through MO, or requires extra work (like using LODGen).TTW Performance GuideNot just for TTW. Relevant for anyone who knows how to read instructions really carefully. Has stutter remover settings for processor types, shader info, and audio codec stuff. Note, if you use an ENB, updating the shaders will make detailed shadows stop working.
21
Has MCM menu. Default settings may or may not be "good enough".Qolore's Viva New Vegas guideReference this for setting up MO2 and other tools!

(Might be missing some that use MCM)Built off of my guide this will have suggestions for textures and content-adding mods.
