Unlike the 2005 team data set, this data set excludes all 506 interceptions from the passing data.

The Data sheet has individual play-by-play data for passing and rushing in 2005.

The Pass and Rush sheets have histograms and frequency tables.

The PT sheet is used to separate out sacks, from passes completed for zero yards, and incomplete passes.

The PassAnalysis sheet breaks down the distribution of all passing plays into sacks, incomplete, and complete pass distributions.

This enables estimating and bracketing plausible values for the SD of passing in 1975.

This workbook has a function that I wrote that computes the SD from a frequency table.

The function was used in cells D25:G25 of the Pass Analysis sheet; e.g., the formula below was used in cell D25:

I then copied the cell range D25:G25 and pasted values so the user would not have to enable macros.

To use the function, you must enable macros when opening this workbook; but macros need not be enabled to use the workbook itself.
