*NOTE ON CAR-FOR-E-BIKE EXCHANGE: I sold my car for $900 and used that to buy an e-bike on Craigslist for $450. I spent another $75 on bike accessories.

**NOTE ON RIDESHARE: When I did the math, I actually spent a lot on Lyft, etc. when I lived in a less-central neighborhood because I went out a lot, I don't drink and drive, and bus service wasn't great after a certain hour. When I moved, I found myself renting cars and using Car2Go for weekend trips more often, but I used Lyft less.
