21 Days towards Unlearning Racism and Learning Anti-Racism (2020)How the 21 Days are organized --> For each day, there will be 2-3 "levels" of resource options available, allowing you to choose where to start, based on your prior knowledge on the topic, how long you have to dedicate to the day, and your preferred method of engagement.
2
These 21 Days of structured resources provides an opportunity for you to engage directly in texts and multi-media focused on anti-Black racism each day for 21 days. The initiative was inspired by the "21 Day Racial Equity Challenge" developed by Dr. Eddie Moore Jr., but is designed for those looking for more structured learning as part of a community. We do not want in any way to convey that participating in this initiative satisfies being anti-racist, that the content included in this curriculum is in any way exhaustive of the resources on anti-black racism, or that the work it takes to be anti-racist is as trivial or easy as a 21 day effort. For some of you, this may be indicative of work you are already engaged in. For others, this may represent exploration and discovery. Ultimately, we hope you will use this opportunity to become more aware and to connect that learning and unlearning to specific actions. The resources included in this curriculum do not in any way reflect the full extent of the literature available, but provide a starting point for learning.
3
We will release content for the initiative 5 days at a time. Each day there will be resources provided in response to each topic. This will allow opportunities for your feedback along the way so that the community can shape the challenge alongside us. Listed below is our tentative plan for how content will unfold.
There are two "Choice Days" in the curriculum where you have the opportunity to continue learning about a topic of particular interest to you.
