ARTT353AP Art 3DAP 3D Art and Design (AP Ceramics)11-12VAPAF-Visual and Performing ArtsAP 3-D Art and Design is an introductory college-level three-dimensional design course. Students refine and apply 3-D skills to ideas they develop throughout the course with a focus on ceramics with exploration in diverse media, styles, subjects, and content. The portfolio consists of two sections. First, the “Sustained Investigation” section shows sustained, deep, and multi-perspective investigation of a student-selected topic. Second, the “Selected Works” section represents the student’s most successful works with respect to form and content. Students will develop works of art and design and writing to demonstrate skillful synthesis of materials, processes, and ideas. Students will receive initial direct instruction specific to the application of 3D materials using the elements and principles of art, then will be self directed in the exploration of 3-dimensional design media and approaches. For the 3-D Design Portfolio, students submit digital images of the art works they created as well as an artist statement in which they describe ideas investigated and explain how the ideas evolved as they created their body of work. All portfolios are assessed by at least two highly experienced studio art educators (AP Studio Art teachers or college faculty) who apply standard scoring criteria, with respect to the forms and content.putnams@sfusd.eduCeramics 1 and teacher permission
