Procedural Notes
21
22
The first lineal championship was awarded following the Championship game of NSCF 1
23
The lineal championship can only change hands in two ways:
24
The holder is beaten in a recognised title game
25
Oracle strip the holder of the title and pass it to another team
26
27
All sanctioned NSCF games involving a titleholder are to be considered title games.
28
Final results of games are counted only. This includes overtime.
29
If a game has no winner, the titleholder retains the title.
30
If a team forfeits a title game, or is otherwise disqualified, or a result expunged, the lineage of any titles involved should be retconned
31
32
If the lineal champions fail to reach the playoffs, the eventual champions of that season will be awarded an interim championship title
33
This should supersede any other titles the team holds, and counts as a unification
34
35
If the lineal champion does not enter the following season of NSCF because their home nation CTE'd, Oracle may award up to two new titles:
36
The silver championship; to the last holders of the lineal championship
37
This title cannot be awarded further back if the last holders also CTE'd
38
The legacy championship; to the highest ranking team entered in NSCF at the time the lineal championship line was broken
39
This applies unless there are no returning teams in NSCF at all.
40
In such a case, the interim championship becomes the lineal championship.
41
If there is no interim championship, the lineal championship should be awarded
42
to the champions of the next completed season of NSCF
43
44
If the lineal champions do not enter a season of NSCF but return the season after, they should still be considered the lineal champions.
45
46
If the lineal champion does not enter NSCF for two or more seasons consecutively, Oracle may strip them of the lineal title
47
and award it to the holder of the next highest ranking title.
48
49
If a lineal champion who was stripped of the title for inactivity later returns, they should be awarded an interim title
50
51
If the holders of any other title besides the lineal championship fail to enter a season of NSCF, Oracle may strip them of their title immediately
52
53
All titles are to be tracked equally until unification, vacation, or an event in which Oracle strips the holders of the title
54
Titles are to be unified as soon as possible, with the priority ranking as follows:
55
Lineal > Interim > Silver > Legacy
56
e.g. if the silver champion plays the legacy champion, the winner will be
57
named the silver champion and the legacy championship is vacated
58
59
If no other titles are being tracked, and Oracle does not award either the silver or legacy championship, the lineal championship should be
60
awarded to the champions of the next season of NSCF.
