EBCLC could also use volunteers at two community info sessions this month- preferably folks who speak Spanish and have some familiarity with immigration. The community events are on Tuesday, November 22nd at 5pm at Longfellow Elementary School and on Thursday, December 1st from 5pm-7pm at EBCLC. In order to volunteer at either event, you must attend a mandatory training this Friday, November 18th from 5:30pm-7pm in room 110 of Boalt Hall (the law school.)

Students can do intakes to facilitate brief consultations for everyone who wants one. Please contact Etan (etan@pangealegal.org), if able to join tomorrow. Meeting at the law school on Thursday, 12/1 at 8am with Pangea staff to talk about what they're doing and how we can support.

Also, they are interested in working with us to start an immigration bond fund. Also Berkeley Immigration Group Detention Project is still accepting volunteers to conduct intakes for Centro at the Richmond Detention Facility. Hours are every other Monday from 8am-noon. Contact imogene@berkeley.edu to get started asap, because it requires a jail clearance and training. State ID and Social Security number required for volunteers (due to jail clearance requirements). Spanish or other 2nd language skills are great but not required.
