Classroom or School-based apps:
17
To comply with COPPA, FERPA, and state and district policies, all students and parents are required to sign a Student Device Acceptable Use Agreement (AUA). For any website/app that requires a student login, each teacher must also have a signed parent permission on file.

Apps/websites that do not require a login (such as those that use “join codes”), often request directory information. Students whose parents have opted out of FERPA must have a signed permission to use any site that collects directory information (such as student name, email address, date of birth, etc.). Note that student ID number should never be used to identify students or create accounts in any web-based software or app.

ITFs will create permission forms for classroom apps/websites.
