The Simple Social Media Content Calendar + Metrics + Goals Template is designed to help entrepreneurs have an easy starting point for planning, populating, and measuring their social media plans. The template will help you establish monthly goals, and assign content to specific social media channels, and measure the results.

To use this Content Calendar + Metrics + Goals template click: File > Make a copy > Add to your Drive

Customize with your specifications

1. Rename the tab at the bottom with the month you'll be focused on

2. Begin creating content and customizing for each platform

3. Be sure to involve your editor or designer in the process if you have requests for copy and design

4. Once planned, edited, and approved, post live on each platform or schedule with your scheduling tool (ie Buffer, Hootsuite, etc.)

5. Establish SMART goals for each month on each platform. At month's end, review whether or not you reached those goals.

6. Start tracking your metrics for each month, quarter, and year. Use the quick look section at the top for a quick recap of each platform following

7. Share with your team (weekly or monthly)

Day of Week - How often will you post? The template allows for multiple posts per day to be grouped together.

Publish Date - When do you need to schedule this piece of content?

Platform- After establishing your platform strategy, here you can determine if a different version is needed for Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Digital Assets - Is there an image? How about a Video or infographic? Link it here.

URL - What link are you driving your audience to? Did you shorten it?

Subject (if any) - Do you have recurring "buckets" of content? Sales/Events/Inspirational/Promotional?

Copy - Actual copy for post goes here. Be sure to proofread!

Copy/Design Notes - Any notes associated with the post, or requests of your designer (or interns!)

Scheduled? - Did you schedule this in your posting tool (ie Hootsuite, Buffer, etc)?

Engagement - At month's end, did you audit which posts performed well and what didn't? This will inform future content creation.

Establish SMART goals for each month on each platform. At month's end, review whether or not you reached those goals.

We suggest monthly goals that will help you increase your likes/followers/engagement month over month.

Setting a goal, then noting weather it was met or not is a helpful way to audit your progress. It also helps you get to the Why behind if it was met or not.

Add or delete goal sections based on the number of platforms you engage on.

The quick look section at the top is a place to quickly see progress. We suggest you list your metrics associated with your top priorities of each platform.
