Welcome to the 2025 Buyers and Sellers List!
2
3
The purpose of this Buyers and Sellers list is to help students and families learn how to tell if a college may be a financial fit. Buyers are schools that are more likely to offer discounts by way of merit scholarships to attract students. Sellers are less likely to give merit scholarships, but some are generous with need-based aid. Use this to get familiar with the terminology and the factors. Then build a more specific list of such data for the schools you’re interested in.

About the Data
12
In partnership with CollegeIQ.com, we collected data from over 1,000 colleges and universities. In most cases, data was from the 2024-2025 school year. When available, tuition data is from the 2025-2026 school year. Net price data is from 2022-2023. When data for the most recent year was not available, the prior year's data was used.

Data is only as good as what the institutions provide. However, if you find an error, please let us know through this link:

What makes a Buyer and Seller
17
Ratings are based on each school's acceptance rate and the percentage of the cost of attendance that it generally covers through merit scholarships for students who don't have financial need. This is a rough guide; some schools that offer little merit but accept nearly all students are still classified as buyers. Use this as a starting point to gauge financial fit, but be sure to research each school further.

Additional Notes
20
- Click on any school's name to get more data about the school.
21
- If a college is missing, that's because we did not have data for the school.
22
- Ratings are only available for private schools; public school distribution of merit aid to in-state and out-of-state students is difficult to quantify, so ratings for public schools would be inaccurate.
23
- To get a good idea of how much an insitution will charge you based on your income/wealth, search for the school's Net Price Calculator.
