NoTwice to five times0161 226 7777Lacks knowledge about administering transition-related care and won't (or is reluctant to) do so without instructions from a GIC, but will be proactive about seeking those instructions with your permission. Hasn't demonstrated any traits that would make him unsuitable for treating trans* patients in unrelated contexts.Update: "I need to add a caveat wrt incompetence to Dr Eden's entry on the "good GPs" list. He recently stopped being cooperative with regards to monitoring after he discovered that spiro interferes with the appearance of oestrogen levels, completely ignoring the fact that it doesn't effect the appearance of testosterone levels or more importantly, safety-critical indicators"

YesMore than five times1244379906She's generally just very respectful and willing to be led/corrected as well as to do her own research on procedure; she's now fully familiar with the interim guidelines. Offered to put notes on my file re: pronouns/titles (and didn't just do it without asking) when it came up.
I know the practice has a few trans men who get their prescriptions there but I'm the first trans patient that she sees personally, so she's not prescribed yet. I have no reason to believe that she won't prescribe on GIC recommendation.

NoMore than five times0117 970 9500Well-informed, respectful, takes trans* patients seriously and refers for appropriate treatment. Has both MtF and FtM patients and is familiar with procedures for both.

Also very pro-active: she has been known to write to the GIC for advice whenever she has any questions. My GIC doctor was so impressed with her attention to detail and care for her patients that he asked me to pass on his compliments.

The surgery also has a very experienced senior nurse who administers Nebido to several male patients. She, too, is very professional and respectful.

I have no experience of whether she is non-binary friendly because I'm very much binary. ;)

Dr Aitken is the sort of GP who listens to what you've got to say before deciding on what course of action is needed.

NoMore than five times01606 42452I have always received the best care from all the GPs at this practice. When I needed kelocote for after my top surgery they prescribed this without an appointment and are always supportive of my treatment. The nurses are always lovely and particularly helpful with my Nebido shots. The administrative staff are all very understanding and helpful and I am aware that I am not the only trans patient so they are used to dealing with trans issues so long as they're provided with all the info they need. He's a brilliant doctor anyway, and is worth the travel, though he made a lot of effort to learn about transitioning and help in every way he could, including forwarding information from Leeds GID that they sent himThis GP has referred to a GIC or onto an official pathway.

Very happy to leave me to it and will support funding requests too as long as all the paperwork is in order. I'm with a private doctor (dr Curtis) not a GIC and she has been more than happy to do 'shared care'; so get all hormones and blood tests/ funding requests through her.

Can't praise her enough for keeping things simple and not delaying treatment.

NoTwice to five times0113 8434488He is a friendly guy just wants to help. He's not really 'right on' or something, he's just not judgemental and is a professional. Also the nursing staff are great, unfortunately they are a very small practice and sometimes under staffed. The admin side of things is terrible, they regularly forget to fill prescription and forgetful in general but since I've got Lloyds to pick up and refill my prescription this hasn't been a problem. I don't know what you mean exactly by non binary people, I mean I suppose if your non binary but have dysphoria I am sure you would get a referral, I don't see it being an issue, then once you have a recommendation I can't imagine him not prescribing based on you not fitting neatly into a gender stereotype. YesOnceI approached them regarding being genderless and wanting to start androgen blockers, and they explained the process as it stands. They didn't create any unrealistic expectations and knew straight off that the nearest GIC was Leeds. They explained the pre-screening that would be needed and arranged a blood test and explained what would happen moving on. I didn't have to blag being binary at all, and felt like they had an understanding of NB identities.
On a side note, they helped me approach the receptionist about changing the title on my records. The receptionist asked if I had a preferred pronoun or if I preferred not using a pronoun at all. The blood test was done within 20 minutes because the surgery had an opening.

NoMore than five times0161 237 9490Have been with this GP throughout my transition for a total period of around 7 years, and find they are knowledgeable and receptive to discussing transition-related healthcare openly. I have never had a negative experience, and would like to specifically mention practice nurse Wendy Cooke who has provided fantastic sexual healthcare and also made me feel able to go in for a cervical smear test feeling safe and secure. This GP has referred to a GIC or onto an official pathway., This GP has prescribed HRT or another treatment recommended by a GIC.

31/07/2016 14:05:03Dr Neil Jackson, Dr Branco Momic, Dr Yvonne HarringtonTwickenhamAcorn Group Practice, 29-35 Holly Rd, Twickenham TW1 4EAYesMore than five times020 8891 0073I wish to recommend a number of GPs in this practice, namely Dr Branco Momic, Dr Yvonne Harrington, and Dr Neil Jackson. They have treated me as a trans man for years. What I like about them is that they are a genuinely caring group of doctors who treat you as a human being and are genuinely interested in you as such. I believe they genuinely want to assist and treat you with kindness, care and professionalism (without seeing you as an 'unusual specimen' or defining people by their condition or illness). They have a listening ear. The Practice Nurse
Emma Jones RGN is also very professional e.g. re smear tests for transmen.
This GP has prescribed HRT or another treatment without a recommendation from a GIC.

NoMore than five times0161 277 5600Dr. Mayans has been great with me. As far as I can recall she's never asked any questions to do with me being trans even when talking to her about needing her to prescribe testosterone, all she wanted was a letter saying she could prescribe it and that was it, and she's certainly never asked any inappropriate questions. This GP has prescribed HRT or another treatment recommended by a GIC.
