General NotesThis is a "reference-only" document for planning purposes and is subject to change. Based on the 2025-26 Academic Catalog. Updated August 2025.
51
1. In the Equivalent Course column, if "AND" is indicated, both courses must be completed in order to be equivalent to the corresponding Kettering University course. If "OR" is indicated, either course will qualify for transfer credit.
52
2. A grade of "C" (2.0) or higher must be earned in order for credits to transfer to Kettering University.
53
3. Maximum number of transfer credits accepted: For 161-credit programs- 80; for 141-credit program (CS)- 68; for 115-credit SMD program- 56. (Note that a 3-credit course at your institution may equal a 4-credit course at Kettering).
54
4. Additional courses besides those listed above may transfer; some courses may need to be evaluated. Schedule an appointment with the Associate Director of Transfer Admissions or visit kettering.edu/transfer for more information.
55
5. Students are encouraged to complete the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) prior to transferring to Kettering. Work with your college's academic advisor to determine appropriate MTA-approved courses.
56
6. While other math requirements may satisfy the MTA, completing Calculus I satisfies a Kettering graduation requirement. Any math for MTA should be in the Calculus pathway (trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus).
57
7. Students will have satisfied COMM-101, two 200-level electives and three advanced electives if they present a transcript documenting completion of an associate's degree or the Michigan Transfer Agreement.
58
8. Any AP or IB credits listed on your community college transcript used to satisfy the MTA or associate's degree requirements will require an official AP / IB transcript with exam scores to be considered for direct transfer credit.
