Over half of fellows hired by CA State Legislature or State Agencies after fellowship. Historically funded by philanthropic donations, but just received funding from CA government for next few years. Originally placed in just legislative offices, but starting in 2019, fellows also placed in state agencies.

Eagleton Science and Politics FellowshipXNew JerseyEagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University-New BrunswickThe Eagleton Science and Politics Fellowship offers PhD-level scientists and engineers the opportunity to apply their training and expertise to the development and implementation of relevant state policy. As full-time aides in the executive or legislative branch, Science Fellows bring their advanced technical skills to service in state government.Full-time, year-long fellowship with term beginning in July. Fellows are supported by a stipend and are placed in both executive and legislative branches. Applications for year 2020/2021 open in November.

Missouri Science and Technology Policy FellowsXMissouriMOST Policy Initiative and University of Missouri Graduate SchoolMOST Policy Initiative, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation aimed at bringing scientists and policymakers together to improve livelihoods for people and communities in the Midwest. The Missouri Science & Technology Policy Fellows program is the core, inaugural program under the umbrella of MOST Policy Initiative.Received grant to launch inaugural class in fall 2020.
