The site was developed as my own art portfolio. I created this site so that i can share my artwork with whoever is interested, since i have a lot of personal work that i have been painting/drawing which i never got the chance to share.
My target audience for the website would be anyone interested in art or anyone looking for inspiration. I would also like to use it as a reference for other people (friends, family, jobs…) if anyone is ever interested in looking into my work.
I decided to choose function over form for the template design, in which my design is very simple and basic. I did this because i did not want the design of the website to take the attention from the artwork, and i think the best way for my work to stand out is to have a simple template.
I divided my pages into my "Home" page followed by 6 different pages each dedicated for one art medium (Pencil Art, Colored Pencil Art, Acrylic paint, Watercolor paint, Sculptures and Patterns). The last two pages would be "Bio" where i talk about myself and have a picture of myself as well as the "Contact" page where i put all my information incase anyone wants to contact me including my Instagram art page. I decided to hide my favorites page because it is irrelevant to my website, but i kept the About Me page (Bio) as a biography of myself (the artist) to talk about my passion for art.
I am really excited to have my website ready and complete. It opened my eyes to the amount of artwork i have created over the years and it boosted my confidence. I haven't been painting/drawing a lot lately due to distractions (Finance workload, Social life, Boxing, Yoga...etc.). However, after working on this website i now want to get back to art and work more on my skills and talent. I realized the urgency of getting back to art because the more i take a break from it and get distracted the more i will lose my talent and i do not want that to happen.
