COLUMBIA KINGSMENThe Columbia College King's Men were founded in 1948 by request of Dwight Eisenhower, then University President, for that year's Homecoming ceremony. Three years later, at a football game in 1951, Eisenhower told the group, "If you men can get 2,000 others singing with that spirit, I’ll personally pin a medal on each one of you." Since then, the Kingsmen have taken that same spirit to the national stage to become one of the most famous a cappella groups in the United States.

METROTONESThe Columbia Metrotones are Columbia University’s premier all-female a cappella group. Founded in 1983 when Columbia became a coeducational institution, our repertoire is ever-changing and eclectic, including pop, R&B, and indie music, and features both newer songs and throwbacks. We perform at a wide variety of venues and events in and outside of New York City, including singing backup for Vampire Weekend, performing at Broad City's wrap party, and singing on Good Morning America. At heart, the Metrotones are a group of friends who love a cappella and each other. We take our music very seriously, but we also love just hanging out and having a good time.

PIZMONPizmon is the premier co-ed, pluralistic Jewish a cappella group of Columbia University, Barnard College, and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Since its inception in 1987 as the first collegiate Jewish a cappella group, Pizmon has traveled to hundreds of communities within the United States and around the world to share our love of Jewish music and culture. As a non-profit performance and outreach group, our mission is to bring Jewish music to Jewish communities of all denominations across the globe. As a pluralistic group, we have members originating from nearly every Jewish background. Through our identity as Jews and our love of music, we strive to be role models for Jewish youth and enhance the religious experiences of Jewish communities. Around three times a semester we travel to Jewish communities of various denominations for the weekend where we fully immerse ourselves in their Jewish life. These weekends fund our annual Musical Outreach Initiative spring break trip during which we visit communities that we are not able to reach during the school year. Through this trip, we aspire to heighten the Jewish experience of the communities we visit, engage in community service-oriented work, and spread our love of Jewish music to residents of old age homes, hospitals, schools, and congregations. In the past, we have traveled overseas to countries including Costa Rica, Panama, England, Wales, France, Ukraine, Canada, Israel, Poland, Holland, and Brazil, and domestically to New Mexico, Arizona, Washington, California, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Oregon, and Montana.Audition form! UPTOWN VOCALUptown Vocal (@uptownvocal on Instagram; our website is https://www.uptownvocal.com) is Columbia's premiere (and only!) jazz a cappella group. Since 1991, "UV" has been cooking up exciting covers of all of your favorite jazz standards, pop and rock hits, and more. Uptown Vocal has performed all over: the White House, morning shows, the Yankee’s 100th Anniversary Dinner. One time we even opened for Ben Folds! UV stayed active during the pandemic year, floating in the Zoom void and making tunes (found here, on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/UptownVocal). The only thing UV's members love more than jazz is being goofy with each other, and we can't wait to welcome new members this fall! https://forms.gle/nGXLS5zsMAMZZdjt8
