Quality of Data collected?
The information collected must follow the 3 simple rules of Data quality which are:
Validity: To determine if the information you are gathering is valid, you must consider whether the information relates to protection needs or to the topics under this checklist.
Reliability: To determine if the information you are gathering is reliable, you must consider the source of these information and how credible it is, and where it’s possible the Staff Must confirm the information themselves.
Accuracy: To determine if the information you are gathering is accurate, you must consider how many reliable sources give the same information (i.e. is the information consistent with information from other reputable sources?), if you can find similar information in at least two valid and reliable sources, then your information could be considered accurate.
Points to note:
Avoid Causing Harm: staff actions must not under any circumstances result in harm to PoC or to yourself!
Accountability: staff should be accountable to any action or decision they make in the field, they should always be aware of the results of their actions and if It may result in harming PoCs or yourself.
Confidentiality of Information: you must protect the confidentiality of the information, and must not share it with anyone that’s not authorized to this information.
