2017BrunoPoirierFranceApril 10th, 2017May 26th461609It was a staged race and the start and finish locations were planned in advance. There was a check every day by the race director (Bruno P.) Three of the five Nepalese runners who made the whole race were in front, they were the guides of the first Western runners: they were (Mane Gurung) and two assistants guides (Pemba Sherpa and Phurpa Sherpa) for safety, for checks (check post) and for the management of runners who abandoned or were late. For the other runners, those who were in the middle of the race, they had to follow the route drawn on a map, between the starting point and the point of arrival. No vehicles or porters were used. None of the 11 left the trail. East-WestKBCHilsaRoute estimate +84000m of climbing, and 82,500m descent. Mixing the GHT Haute Route and the GHT Cultural Trail. 8 check points: 1. Olangchun Gola 2. 2017TobyPearUnited KingdomMarch 7th, 2017June 1st, 201792 (2 rest days)1569No support aside from manditory guide for 7 days in ManasluEast-WestPhalut (eastern border near the village of Chyangtapu.) DarchulaContinuous trek with no breaks - every yard was walked.. with roughly 82km of vertical ascent. We walked a combination of low and high routes that enabled us to walk with small packs and avoid the need for guides or porters (with the enforced exception of Manaslu where we had a guide for 7 days). Low route from Kanchenjunga to Rolwaling, onto the high route for Gosainkund, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Annapurna before rejoining low route for Dhorpatan, Dolpa and on to the west border. As inexperienced non-climbers we chose a route that avoided the technical passes.http://cargocollective.com/nepaltraverseAdventure Mountain Club. TP

2019LucHapersBelgianSept 7, 2019November 17, 2019701700Partly supported with guidesEast-WestTaplejungDarchulaHigh route, including 3 technical passes. Sherpani col, west col and amphu labsta. After Milena´s accident I Took a bus back to Kathmandu to meet with Charlie,Narayan ( mac trek) and the Polish consulate. that was from some place south of Lukla, I believe it was Phaplu. After that Charlie and I took a bus back to pick up the trail near from where Charlie left the GHT ( barhabise?) to meet me in kathmandu. We left some stuff in KTM and started running/speed hiking. Once in Annapurna (via Gorkha) we decided to split up and I kept running while Charlie took a step back and went slower from here.
-From Annapurna I ran down to Beni, west to Dhorpatan, then trying to get to Dunai but due to bad weather I couldn´t get over the pass and was forced to turn back. ( I was not carrying a tent with me anymore at this point.)
-I then took a different route to Rara Lake. Not even sure of which villages I passed along the way but it wasn´t a particular nice path I remember. From Rara to Darchula was lovely, remote with friendly locals. I remember I passed by Kolti.

Only one forced break at mid-december, because of visa issues. Started again from the same place, in Dolpo, at the beginning January and the new year. Fully unassisted. Not even in Kanchenjunga, Manaslu or Dolpo.
East-WestTaplejungTumkot, HumlaAll the High Route, including Kanchenjunga Base Camp, Tashi Lapsta, Tilman's Pass and Upper Dolpo. We had to avoid Sherpani Col and Co for bad weather conditions, as well as some high passes from Upper Dolpo (it was winter). We could not get as far as Hilsa because in winter is completely isolated and abandoned because of snow and ice. We reached Tomko, just 20 km away from it. 99 days in total (including days off), 86 from KBC to Tumkot.
