The requirements for membership are as follows:
• Must be in 10th-12th grade
• Must be an active member of the Charger Band or Chorus
• Must maintain a “B” average overall (3.0 unweighted GPA) and an “A” average in all music classes
• Must maintain character befitting an honor society member
• Must be able to attend monthly Tri-M meetings (1st Wednesday from 2:20-3pm) & miss no more than one meeting per semester (2 per school year)
• Must participate in Tri-M sponsored service projects each semester
• Must pay annual dues. $20 for new members and $5 for each year thereafter.

Events can be grouped into testing and building events. Testing events take a written exam, and some have a lab demonstration portion, while build events must design and execute devices needed, putting their creations through trials for scoring at the competitions. The club is open to anyone (event scopes are very wide and not generally covered in classes), but students will need a partner for all the events.
